Dale S. Overbo

Dale S. Overbo, 53, of Wilson Avenue, Kittanning, formerly of Chicora, went home to be with the Lord late Sunday evening at ACMH Hospital following a courageous one-year battle with cancer.

Dale was born in Butler on Oct. 12, 1958. He was the son of the late Sven Inge “Bo Bo” and Ellen “Isabella” Boyer Overbo.

Dale was a 1976 graduate of Karns City High School. He was an avid NASCAR fan, as well as a Pittsburgh Pirates, Penguins and Steelers fan. He enjoyed hunting and spending time with his animals.

He was a truck driver for more than 20 years, and for most of that time he was employed with McClymonds Supply and Transit in Portersville.

He is survived by his wife, Anita Kalac Overbo. The couple was married Feb. 11, 2012, at their home in Kittanning. Also surviving are three children, Joe Overbo, Brandon Overbo and Ashley Overbo, all of Fenelton; two sisters, Lynn Ritzert and her husband, Pete, of Emlenton and Gayle Craig of Chicora; his mother-in-law, Mildred “Midge” Van Grootenbruel and her husband, Anthony, of Butler; his father-in-law, John Kalac and his wife, Nancy, of East Butler; as well as a number of brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends.

Dale was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.

OVERBO — Private funeral arrangements for Dale S. Overbo, who passed away Sunday, Aug. 5, 2012, are under the direction of Hile Funeral Home of Chicora. Interment will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Route 268, Chicora.

Memorial contributions in Dale’s memory may be made to the Richard G. Laube Cancer Center, One Nolte Drive, Kittanning, PA 16201.
