Darlene M. Fritz

Darlene M. Fritz, 51, of Springdale Township died Wednesday in her home after a three-year courageous battle with breast cancer.

She was born Feb. 23, 1961, in Butler to the late Kenneth Morrow and Erma Jean Kerr.

She moved back to the Springdale area in 1996. She was a metallurgical engineer for the Society of Automotive Engineers in Warrendale since 2006. She was a member of the Springdale United Presbyterian Church. Darlene enjoyed reading and singing in the church choir, and she was a past deacon of the church. She loved her six cats.

Surviving are her husband, Jeff Fritz; two daughters, Jessica Fritz of Lower Burrell and Nicole Fritz at home; grandson, Lucas James Holmes; sister, Karen Maser of Butler; three stepsisters, Debra (John) Hilliard of Fennelton, Susan Marie (Jim) Black of Fennelton and Linda Lee Kerr of Butler; one stepbrother, James Steven (Kelly) Kerr of Fennelton; four nephews; and one niece.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her stepfather, Hugh James Kerr.

FRITZ — The family of Darlene M. Fritz, who died Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2012, will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today and from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Charles B. Jarvie Funeral Home, 801 Pittsburgh St., Springdale.Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Springdale United Presbyterian Church, Pittsburgh Street and School Street, Springdale, with the Rev. David Carlisle officiating. Please meet at the church.
