Larry G. 'Butch' Cypher

Larry G. “Butch” Cypher, 68, of Worthington passed away Saturday at the Good Samaritan Hospice in Cabot.

He was born Nov. 10, 1943, in Kittanning, to the late Paul Cypher and the late Henrietta (Schnur) Cypher.

He retired from Drug Plastic after 15 years and previously worked for Moonlight Mushroom for 25 years.

He was a member of the St. John Roman Catholic Church in Coylesville and a member of the Worthington-West Franklin Volunteer Fire Department where he was a past chief. He also was a member of Camp Mercury Happy Hunters.

He was an avid hunter and a great husband, dad and “Pup.” He raised a wonderful family that put the fun in dysfunctional.

Surviving are his wife, Patricia of Worthington; his daughters, Kathy (Randy) Heilman of Worthington, Sharon (Mark) Mechling of Homer City, Susan (Rich) Green of Wexford, Paula (Dave) Berry of Kittanning and Georgia (Kevin) Bowser of Worthington; and son, Richard (Crystal) Cypher of Kittanning.

He also is survived by his 11 grandchildren, Lindsay Heilman and her fiance, Ryan Hyde, Derek Mechling, Emily (Bobbie) Gates, Kelsey Heilman, Dillon Green, Allie Green, Logan Bowser, Paul Cypher, Laini Berry, Lauren Bowser and Maggie Cypher; sister, Jean Crytzer of Worthington; brothers, Ed (Dolly) Cypher of Chicora, Ronald (Dot) Cypher of Alabama and Carl (Sandy) Cypher of Worthington; many nieces and nephews; and his faithful dog, Duke.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Robert Cypher.

CYPHER — Friends of Larry G. “Butch” Cypher, who passed away Saturday, Aug. 25, 2012, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in the F. DUANE Snyder Funeral Home, Worthington. There will be a firefighter's memorial service at 7 p.m. today in the funeral home.A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the St. John Roman Catholic Church, Coylesville, with Father Don Bishoff as celebrant.The interment will be in St. John Roman Catholic Church Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the Worthington-West Franklin Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box P, Worthington, PA 16262, or to the Good Samaritan Inpatient Hospice, 134 Marwood Road, Cabot, PA 16023.
