John Zavacky
John Zavacky, 86, of Butler, died early Wednesday morning at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born in Lyndora, on June 10, 1926, and was a son of the late Stephen and Anna Suchina Zavacky.
John was retired from the Butler Township Road Department, where he worked for 14 years.
A veteran of World War II, he served with the U.S. Army in Central Europe. He was a member of the VFW Post 249 in Butler and the American Legion Post 778 in Lyndora. He also was a member of the St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, Butler.
Surviving are his loving wife of 55 years, Susie Furka Zavacky, who he married Oct. 20, 1956; one brother, Steve Zavacky of Butler; one sister, Nora Zavacky of Butler; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by four sisters.
ZAVACKY — There will be no public visitation for John Zavacky, who died Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2012. Private funeral services will be held for his family.
