Ivan Jack Allshouse
Ivan Jack Allshouse, 93, of Butler passed away at 8:20 a.m. Wednesday at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born March 24, 1919, in Brookville to the late John Irvin Allshouse and Pearl T. Geist Allshouse.
Mr. Allshouse was a specialist 1st class, serving in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II.
He was a 1942 graduate of Clarion College, where he earned a bachelor of science degree in education. Mr. Allshouse was a secondary math and science teacher at Moniteau High School from 1954 to 1976.
He was a member of the North Main Street Church of God where he was a member of the Keenagers Sunday School Class. He was also a member of the AARP.
Mr. Allshouse is survived by one daughter, Linda Neyman of Butler; one son, Keith I. Allshouse and his wife, Doris, of Durham, N.C.; four grandchildren, Gregory Neyman and his wife, Lisa, Stephen Neyman and his wife, Kris, Roger Neyman and Amy Fowler and her husband, Craig; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, June Hansen of Centralia, Wash., and Ruth Lindeman and her husband, Robert, of Pollock Pines, Calif.; and also by a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Hilma Grace (Nale) Allshouse, who he married Feb. 6, 1942, and who passed away Aug. 1, 2004; two sisters, and seven brothers.
ALLSHOUSE — Friends of Ivan Jack Allshouse, who passed away Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2012, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday the funeral home with Chaplain Robert Pascoe of Amedisys Hospice of Butler officiating.
