Carl E. Buzard Sr.
Carl E. Buzard Sr., 77, of Karns City passed away Friday at the Sugar Creek Rest Home in Worthington following a several-month illness.
Born in West Monterey, Pa., on March 12, 1935, he was the son of the late Lewis E. and Treva Logan Buzard.
Graduating from the former Parker High School in 1953, he began a 45-year career the following day at the Penn-Drake Refinery, now Calumet-Penreco, in Karns City. Carl also served nearly 20 years as president of the former ERP Union at the plant, now Oil, Chemical and Atomic Workers.
He was a Protestant.
He is survived by his wife, Dixie Lee Dittmer Buzard, who he married in 1955; four daughters, Teresa Coleman of Butler, Sandy “Jeannie” (Dan) Black of Hilliards, Carla Sue (Walt) Cotherman of St. Petersburg and Christine Cubbison of Butler; a number of grand and great-grandchildren; one sister, Lucille (“Bud”) Donaldson of Evans City; one brother, H. Jack (Gail) Buzard of Eau Claire; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his only son, Carl E. Buzard Jr., who died Aug. 22, 2012.
BUZARD — Friends of Carl E. Buzard Sr., who passed away Friday, Sept. 7, 2012, may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the H. Jack Buzard Funeral Home, 201 S. Wayne Ave., Parker.Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Mark Wallace of the Chicora Christian Missionary and Alliance Church officiating.
