Robert G. Marshall
Robert G. Marshall, 83, of Middlesex Township passed away Tuesday.
He was born Nov. 22, 1928, in Middlesex Township, son of the late Nicholas and Glee (Truver) Marshall.
He was the beloved husband of the late Phyllis J. (Pflug) Marshall. He also was preceded in death by six siblings, the late Sam “Jack,” William, Charles, James, Joy W. Marshall and Jane Filipow; and one grandchild.
He was the father of Kathy Purvis of Renfrew, Laurie Cahall of Butler and Bonnie (William) Walker of Slippery Rock; and brother of Pearl Love, Paul Marshall, Glee Lang and Roy “Cap” Marshall, all of Middlesex Township, and Birdie Kroll of Ohio. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter and many loving nieces and nephews.
A lifelong member of the Glade Run United Presbyterian Church, Bob loved farming his land, spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and watching the Steelers and the Pirates. A man of quick wit, he loved his friends, always quoted others as having a “heart of gold” and was the first person to help a neighbor in need. He will be dearly missed.
MARSHALL — Family of Robert G. Marshall, who passed on Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2012, will welcome friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Schellhaas Funeral Home, 5864 Heckert Road, Bakerstown.Additional visitation will be in the Glade Run Church, 1091 Pittsburgh Road, Valencia, from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday where services will follow at noon. The Rev. Greg Wiest will officiate.
