Walter J. Huey

Walter J. Huey, 92, of Wexford passed away Wednesday.

He was the beloved husband of 66 years to Ruth Bergman Huey and the dear father of Verna (Robert) Morrow of South Carolina, Jim (Maxine) Huey of Butler, Beverly Carey of Wexford, Nancy Baden of Freedom and Terri (James) Farringer of Blawnox. He also is survived by 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Walt was a 32nd degree Mason at the John E. Mair Masonic Lodge and a member of Mars VFW Post 7505, where he was past commander. He was also a lifetime member of American Legion Post 548.

He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1945, and was involved in the invasion of Normandy.

Walt was brakeman for the B&O Railroad where he worked for 40 years.

HUEY — Friends of Walter J. Huey, who passed away Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2012, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. today at the George A. Thoma Funeral Home, 10418 Perry Highway, Wexford, where a Masonic service will be held at 7 p.m. followed by a VFW service.Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, 10301 Walters Road, Allison Park, PA 15101, or to the Mars VFW 7505, P.O. Box 90, Mars PA 16046.
