Eva 'Jean' Seelbaugh
Eva “Jean” Seelbaugh, 90, of Hagantown Road, Parker, went to be with the Lord on Thursday evening at Clarion Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Jean was born on Aug. 25, 1922, in Rockland, Venango County, to the late Harry Whitmer and Alice M. Anderson Whitmer Eiler.
She attended the St. Petersburg Church of the Nazarene for many years.
Jean was a homemaker and she enjoyed her visits with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed feeding birds and the neighborhood cats. She enjoyed taking care of her flower gardens and house plants, gardening and canning many items out of the garden. She liked to cook and bake, especially making homemade bread, and was always sharing it with neighbors and friends. You never left her home without her giving something made or baked. She was a very caring and loving person.
She is survived by two daughters, Shirley Fockler of Parker and Marian McGinnis and her husband, John, of New Cumberland, W.Va.; two sons, John and David Seelbaugh, at home; a daughter-in-law, Mary Jean Seelbaugh of Sharon; 15 grandchildren, 39 great- grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was married to Donald O. Seelbaugh, who preceded her in death in 1972. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Hazel and her husband, George Heverly; a son, Donald E. Seelbaugh; a granddaughter, Rhonda Fockler; a grandson, Eric Fockler; and a stepgrandson, Tim Rheer.
SEELBAUGH — Friends of Eva “Jean” Seelbaugh, who passed away Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012, will be received at Hile Funeral Home, 1204 Kerr Ave., Emlenton, from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. today. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Dave Perkins, pastor of the First Church of the Nazarene in Newell, W.Va., officiating.
