Muriel E. 'Mert' Williams
Muriel E. “Mert” Williams, 73, of Center Township died Monday afternoon at the VNA Inpatient Hospice.
Born July 17, 1939, in Butler, she was a daughter of the late Floyd V. and Violet (Grossman) Webb.
Mert was a homemaker and was a member of the St. Wendelin Roman Catholic Church and the East Butler Firehall Ladies Auxiliary.
Surviving are her son, Wayne (Kim) Williams of Butler; one daughter, Becky Williams of Hallandale Beach, Fla.; three grandchildren, Maci, Chase and Blake; and two brothers, Raymond (Dorothy) Webb of Butler and Kenny Webb of Harrisville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Knute E. Williams, who she married May 9, 1959, and who died Oct. 24, 2009; and three sisters, Jean, Twyla and Alice.
WILLIAMS — Friends of Muriel E. “Mert” Williams, who died Monday, Oct. 29, 2012, will be received at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Wendelin Roman Catholic Church. The Rev. Matt McClain, pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow in St. Wendelin’s Parish Cemetery.
Her family requests that memorial donations be made to St. Wendelin Church, 210 St. Wendelin Road, Butler, PA 16002.
