H. Nelson Fugh
H. Nelson Fugh, 86, of Palmerton, Carbon County, formerly of Mars and Mansfield, Tioga County, died Monday evening in the comfort of his home.
Born July 5, 1926, in Valencia, he was the son of the late Carl and Della Maharg Fugh.
Nelson had been a blasting superintendant for S.J. Groves Construction in Minneapolis for 20 years.
He served in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific Theater during World War II.
He was the beloved husband of 63 years of Helen L. Hopper Fugh, who he married on June 10, 1949; loving father of Daniel Fugh (Cynthia) of Garden Valley, Calif., Nancy Fugh Hamilton (David) of Palmerton, Douglas Fugh (Tammy) of Burnsville, Minn., and David Fugh (Tree) of Plymouth, Minn.; grandfather of Josh Wood, Jordan and Jadelyn Hamilton and Christopher, Lauren and Erin Fugh; great-grandfather of Lex and Gwyneth Wood; brother of Anna Fugh Long of Catawissa, Pa., Mary Elizabeth Fugh Shields of Kittanning and the late Elwood Fugh, Mark Fugh, Carl Fugh Jr., Ruth Fugh Dugan and Della Katherine Fugh.
FUGH — Friends of H. Nelson Fugh, who died Monday, Oct. 29, 2012, will be received at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday.
