Gerald Stephen Steffanus, 76, of Victorville, Calif., formerly of McKees Rocks and Emlenton, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home on Wednesday.

Born Jan. 12, 1936, in McKees Rocks, he was the son of Stephen and Hilda Steffanus.

Before moving to California, he was a member of the Chapel on the Hill in Emlenton. He was retired and enjoyed spending time with his family. He also enjoyed doing mission work in Belize, Central America, and in Kentucky with the group “Men with Vision.”

He was the loving father of Deborah (Steven) Morgan of Hooker, Karen Steffanus of Jackson Center, Mercer County, Scott (Julie) Steffanus of Jackson Center, Brenda (Matthew) DeNinno of Boyers and Kathy (Wayne) Keene of Eau Claire; brother of Gene Steffanus of Pittsburgh, Don Steffanus of Wyoming, Bob Steffanus of Pittsburgh and Denise Steffanus of Kentucky.

He had 15 grandchildren, one great-granddaughter and many nieces and nephews in Western Pennsylvania.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Ted Hartz of California.

STEFFANUS — Gerald Stephen Steffanus passed away Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2012. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, at the Chapel on the Hill in Emlenton with Pastor Chris Clark officiating.
