Helen M. Zaludek

Helen M. Zaludek, 90, of Butler died Saturday afternoon at the VNA Inpatient Hospice of Butler.

She was born in Lyndora on March 20, 1922, a daughter of the late Sebastian and Victoria Bugar Furka.

Helen was a homemaker, but had worked for more than 10 years at the former Shell Shop at Pullman Standard and also at the American Bantam Car Co. prior to World War II.

Helen was a member of St. Andrew Roman Catholic Church in Center Township, where she had been a Eucharistic Minister. She also was a Eucharistic Minister for more than 32 years, until 2004, at the Wednesday evening Mass at the Sunnyview Home and for other services there.

She was a member of the Ladies Guild at St. Andrews and of the Tanglewood Senior Center in Lyndora.

Helen was the widow of John A. Zaludek. They married July 8, 1944, and he died Feb. 8, 1994. She also was preceded in death by one brother and five sisters.

She is survived by one brother, Joseph (Sarah) Furka, and two sisters, Susie Zavacky and Julie (Robert) Lardin, all of Butler, and by numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

ZALUDEK— Friends of Helen M. Zaludek, 90, of Butler, who died Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012, will be received at the GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler, from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. at St. Andrew Roman Catholic Church, 1660 N.
