Donald Kaib

Donald Kaib, 80, of Renfrew passed away at 11:08 a.m. Sunday at the Good Samaritan Hospice at Concordia.

He was born Jan. 21, 1932, in Butler to the late Wilfrid J. Kaib and Mildred “Honey” Dufford Kaib.

Mr. Kaib was a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church in America where he was a member of the Expositors Sunday School Class.

He worked for the Butler School District as a custodian, retiring after 25 years in 1993. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in the Korean War and also in the National Guard. Mr. Kaib was a member of several camping clubs.

Mr. Kaib is survived by his wife, Ethelda “Kay” Kaylor Kaib, who he married on April 26, 1952; two daughters, Sherry Sassone and her fiancée, Brian Sholes, of Butler and Brenda McCall and her husband, John, of Butler; and one son, Keith Kaib and his wife, Jeannie, of Butler.

He also is survived by 11 grandchildren, Seth McCall and his wife, Jennifer, Wade McCall and his wife, Lindsay, Hope Stuart and her husband, Jeff, Luke McCall and his wife, Heather, Jackie McMurdy, Joy Estes, Jared Kaib and his wife, Suzy, Shannon Kaib, Maxwell and Quinn Sassone, and Trista Sholes; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Kaib also is survived by one brother, Rolland Kaib of Mill Run, Pa.; one sister-in-law, Alice Kaib of Butler; two aunts, Rose “Toots” Smith and Rose Dufford, both of Butler; and also by numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one infant son, Gary Lynn Kaib; one infant granddaughter, Laci McCall; and one brother, Bernard “Skeeter” Kaib.

KAIB— Friends of Donald Kaib, 80, of Renfrew, who passed away at 11:08 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 18, 2012, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 124 E. North St. Butler. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Pastor Dan Ledford of the Westminster Presbyterian Church in America officiating.Burial will take place in the Butler County Memorial Park.In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to Dan Schall Ministries, P.O.
