Floyd L. McKinnis

Floyd L. McKinnis, 86, of Evans City passed away Friday night in Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born in Prospect, July 3, 1926, he was the son of the late Robert M. and Mildred Davison McKinnis.

Floyd was a member of the St. Peters Lutheran Church, Evans City, for more than 50 years.

He retired from the MSA Co. as a machinist with 36½ years of service.

He was a staff sergeant in Troop 92 Calvary in the U.S. Army during World War II. Floyd was a member of the 12th Armor Division Association. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 0417.

He was a life member of the Connoquenessing Volunteer Fire Department.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and two grandsons.

Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Gertrude R. Enslen McKinnis; one daughter, Judith (John) Osborne of Prospect; two sons, W. David (Carol) McKinnis and Richard F. McKinnis, both of Evans City; two sisters, Eleanor Magill of Butler and Barbara (Louis) Yaklick of Prospect; three grandsons, David L. McKinnis and John and Justin Osborne; and one great-grandson, Casen.

MCKINNIS — Friends and relatives of Floyd L. McKinnis, who died Friday, Nov. 16, 2012, will be received at the A. Carl Kinsey-Ronald N. Volz Funeral Home, 328 W. Main St., Evans City, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.
