Ellen Arline Hepler
Ellen Arline Hepler, 85, of Butler, formerly of Virginia Avenue and for the past two years of the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, passed away at 11:50 p.m. Monday at the VNA Inpatient Hospice.
She was born Sept. 25, 1927, in Bradys Bend to the late William Nulph and Geraldine Stewart Nulph.
Mrs. Hepler was a homemaker and had also worked at Troutman’s Department store in Butler. She loved Bible study and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Butler. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary in Butler. Mrs. Hepler loved going to bingo, working crossword puzzles, going to gambling casinos, and most of all, spending time with her family and especially caring for her son, Brian Hepler.
Mrs. Hepler is survived by four sons, Duane William Hepler and his wife, Karen, of Butler, Thomas Guy Hepler and his wife, Peggy, of Westminster, Md., Jeffrey Alan Hepler and his wife, Teresa, of Butler and Brian Scott Hepler of West Sunbury; five grandchildren, Jeremy Hepler, Quinn Hepler, Zachary Hepler, Amanda Tourtlott and Joshua Hepler; three great-grandchildren, Dillon, Taylor and Lucas Hepler; one sister, Dolores Witherow of Franklin; one brother, Richard Nulph and his wife, Janice, of Butler; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death her husband, Guy Roland Hepler, who she married June 20, 1947, and who passed away April 2, 1997; one brother, William Nulph Jr., and one sister, Avanelle Calhoun.
HEPLER — Friends of Ellen Arline Hepler, who passed away Monday, Nov. 19, 2012, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Pat Nelson of the First United Methodist Church officiating.
