Catherine Brown

Catherine Mildred Brown, 83, of Chicora passed away at 6:21 p.m. Saturday at Butler Memorial Hospital.

She was born July 29, 1929, in Pittsburgh, to the late Mildred Mackin Riley.

Mrs. Brown was a homemaker. She enjoyed traveling, swimming, dancing and reading and was the consummate hostess. Her life was being with her family and friends.

Mrs. Brown is survived by her husband, Robert James Brown, who she married Oct. 29, 1955; four sons, Patrick Brown and his wife, Chrissi, of Rochester, Pa., Tim Brown and his wife, Rita, of Slippery Rock, Terry Brown of Slippery Rock and Art Vogel and his wife, Debbie, of Butler; two daughters, Colleen Urish and her husband, Joe, of Butler and Dr. Kathleen Brown of Carlisle, Pa.; five grandchildren, Sean, Dylan, Ashley and Brady Brown and Brittany Vogel; two nieces, Amy Hirsh and Cathy Boyd; and five nephews, Don, Billy and Mike Betz and Jim and Bob Brown.

She also was preceded in death by two brothers, Eugene and Paul Riley.

BROWN — Friends of Catherine Mildred Brown, who died Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012, will be received from 2 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Mater Dolorosa Roman Catholic Church, 409 N. Main St., Chicora, with Father Joseph Pudichery officiating.
