Ethel McPherson

Ethel McPherson celebrated her 100th birthday with a party at the Tanglewood Senior Center and a family reunion.

The former Ethel Means was born on Jan. 2, 1913, in Butler. She married the late Lynn Scott in Sharon and is married to Paul McPherson of Butler.

She has two sons, Lynn Scott of York and James Scott of King George, Va.

She also has five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

McPherson was a seamstress and served as a resident director at Slippery Rock University until she retired in 1972.

She has been at Concordia at the Orchard for 11 years.

A former member of Calvary Presbyterian Church, Ethel attends worship services at the Orchard and enjoys playing cards and quilting.
