Margaret L. 'Peggy' Shoup
Margaret L. “Peggy” Shoup, 81, of Butler passed away at 8:30 p.m. Monday at Butler Memorial Hospital.
She was born Sept. 5, 1931, in Warren to the late Harold Look and the late Margaret (McGarry) Look McLaughlin.
Mrs. Shoup was a homemaker. She was a member of the St. Paul Roman Catholic Church and the Catholic Daughters of America Drum and Bugle Corps. Mrs. Shoup was a wonderful cook and enjoyed gardening, going on gambling trips to many casinos, reading, Steelers football and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Mrs. Shoup is survived by two sons, David L. Shoup of Aliquippa and John E. Shoup of Tyler, Texas; two daughters, Sally Brown and her husband, Randall, of Butler and Donalee Thomas and her husband, Bryan, of Butler; seven grandchildren, Dawn Marie Shoup, Randall K. Brown Jr. and his wife, Martha, Betsy Brown, Cory Shoup, Davy Shoup, Julianne Thomas and Benjamin Thomas; seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Peter Look and his wife, Joanne, of Timber Lake, Ohio; and one sister-in-law, Gretchen Ehlman of Butler.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald L. Shoup, who she married Sept. 9, 1950, and who passed away March 9, 2009; one daughter, Margaret Mary Shoup; and one sister, Dolores Bradrick.
SHOUP — Friends of Margaret L. “Peggy” Shoup, who died Monday, Dec. 10, 2012, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at the St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 N. McKean St., Butler. St. Paul’s Catholic Women and Christian Mothers will recite the rosary at 9:35 a.m. Friday at the church. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Butler Humane Society, 1015 Evans City Road, Renfrew, PA 16053.
