Thomas Arthur Denniston

Thomas Arthur Denniston, 74, of New Castle passed away Tuesday at his home.

He was born in Slippery Rock on Sept. 3, 1938, to Howard Clifford Denniston and Mary Margaret Johnson.

He had been employed as a mechanic, steelworker, truck driver and a farmer's hired hand.

A Protestant, he was a member and director of the Northwest Steam and Gas Association in Portersville.

Surviving are two brothers, Charles H. Denniston of Prospect and Bernard J. Denniston of Chicora; five sisters, Clara M. Nossek of Pittsburgh, Margaret Marie Nappi of DeLeon, Texas, Laura J. Basham of Grove City, Dorothy Louise Duperault of Helotes, Texas, and Mary Elizabeth Mowry of Hammond, Ind.; and a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

DENNISTON — Visitation for Thomas Arthur Denniston, who passed away Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013, will be observed at Smith Funeral Home, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday. The funeral service will take place after the visitation at 8 p.m. with the Rev. Robert Strobel, pastor of Evangel Community Church, officiating.Interment will be in Slippery Rock Cemetery.
