Paul A. Neff

Paul A. Neff, 80, of Rattigan Road, Chicora, passed away at 6:50 a.m. Tuesday at the Chicora Medical Center.

Mr. Neff was born in Oakland Township on Feb. 26, 1933. He was the son of Charles E. and Regina Ritzert Neff.

Mr. Neff was a 1953 graduate of Butler High School. He was a member of the St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in North Oakland and was a member of the Holy Name Society. He attended the Chicora Senior Center and had helped deliver Meals on Wheels. He was a member of the Chicora Moose Lodge and the American Legion Post in Chicora.

He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during the Korean War.

Mr. Neff owned and operated his family farm on Rattigan Road for many years. He also had been employed as a welder for Pullman Standard for more than 30 years.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Rose Marie Emminger Neff, who he married at the St. Patrick Church in Sugarcreek Township on Sept. 3, 1960. She preceded him in death on Feb. 28, 1999.

Paul is survived by four children, Gloria A. Bryan and her husband, Dennis, of Karns City, Mark A. Neff and his wife, Dusty, of Petrolia, Judy R. Wilbert and her husband, Kevin, of Chicora, and Paul J. Neff and his wife, Spring, of Chicora; five grandchildren, Jed Wilbert, Kayla Wilbert, Katie Neff, Michael Neff and Lily Neff; three brothers, Anthony “Tony” Neff and his wife, Roberta, of Chicora, William Neff and his wife, Diana, of Chicora, and Jack Neff and his wife, Bonnie, of Fenelton; a sister, Marcella Desmond and her husband, Ray, of Butler; as well as a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by three sons, Jay, Charles and Guy; three sisters, Mary Elizabeth Mulligan, Josephine Neff and Clara Neff; and eight brothers, Dick, Elmer, Harry, George, Stephen, Morris, David and Joseph Neff.

NEFF — Friends of Paul A. Neff, who passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2013, will be received at the Hile Funeral Home of Chicora, 339 Chicora Fenelton Road, Chicora, from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at the St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in North Oakland with the Rev. Steven Neff, Mr. Neff's nephew, and the Rev. Joseph A. Pudichery, church pastor, concelebrating.Military honors will be accorded by the Chicora and Bradys Bend American Legion Post and the Chicora VFW.
