Dorothy M. Dare

Dorothy M. Dare, 91, of Butler passed away at 6:27 a.m. Friday at Butler VNA Hospice.

She was born Aug. 29, 1921, in Renfrew and was the daughter of the late Edward and Laura (Fisher) Cupps.

Dorothy belonged to the St. Fidelis Catholic Church and the Ladies of the Butler Moose 64, where she received the College of Regent Degree. She also volunteered at the Butler Memorial Hospital.

Surviving are three daughters, Phyllis (Ray) Martin of Lebanon, Ohio, Dottie (Pete) DeSantis of Butler and Joan Kalak of East Butler; one son, John (Nancy) Kalak of East Butler; four stepdaughters, Patricia (Alan) Wentnick of Florida, Rosemarie (John) Mayo Poggi of Nevada, Janice Beal of Maryland and Joyce Dare (Mel) Harding of Delaware; a stepson, James T. Dare of Maryland; five grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and two brothers, Kenneth Tynan of Butler and Richard Tynan of California.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James P. Dare, who died Dec. 14, 2000, three brothers and one sister.

DARE — A Mass of Christian burial will be held for Dorothy M. Dare, who passed away Friday, March 15, 2013, at the St. Fidelis Catholic Church, 125 Buttercup Road, Butler, at 10:30 a.m. Saturday.Private Interment will be in the Crown Hill Cemetery.
