Elizabeth 'Betty' Jean Critchfield
Elizabeth “Betty” Jean Critchfield, 88, of Butler passed away Tuesday in the YWCA Personal Care Residence.
She was born March 30, 1924, in Butler and was the daughter of the late Albert and Mary Troutman Kradel.
She was a life member of the St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Butler, and a Butler High School graduate.
Betty will be remembered for her love of M&M’s, playing instant lottery tickets and being an avid bingo player. In younger years, she enjoyed camping and bowling.
She is survived by her children, Norma (David) McConnell of Hooker and Harold (Mary Jane) Critchfield of Butler; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Harold V. Critchfield, who she married in June 1946 and who passed away in June 1986; her granddaughter, Donna Critchfield; her great-granddaughter, Rachel Blauser; and her brother, Ray Kradel.
CRITCHFIELD — Family and friends of Elizabeth “Betty” Jean Critchfield, who passed away Tuesday, March 19, 2013, are invited to gather at 2 p.m. Friday in the Butler County Memorial Park Mausoleum for a time of remembrance, with interment to follow.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Edward L. Raisley Funeral Home, 387 Main St., Prospect.
In appreciation of care, memorial contributions may be made to the YWCA Personal Care Residence, 120 W. Cunningham St., Butler, PA 16001.
