Glenn A. Powell
Glenn A. Powell, 82, of Kittanning went to be with his Lord Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at Good Samaritan Hospice in Cabot.
He was born Oct. 22, 1930, in Brackenridge, Pa., and was the son of Clarence and Estella (Westerman) Powell.
Glenn was a lifetime resident of Western Pennsylvania and worked in the pack house at Moonlight Mushrooms, retiring in 1983. He was the proprietor for G.A. Powell Auto Sales in Worthington and retired from the business in 1992. Music and church were a large part of his life. He regularly sang at his church, the Cabot United Methodist Church. He used his musical talents to show his love for his family by singing at all of their weddings. Traveling was one of Glenn’s favorite activities. He also liked to hunt and fish at his camp near Sigel, Pa. Glenn will be remembered for being a hard-working, God-fearing and loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 62 years, Dorothy (Brison) Powell, who he married on Oct. 27, 1950; his son Thomas Powell and wife, Bevi, of Kittanning; his daughters, Glenna Wetzel and husband, Bill, of Cabot, Judy Kitko and husband, Ken, of Winston-Salem, N.C., and Becky Cousins and husband, Raymond, of Kittanning; his grandchildren, Amy (Jody) Farr, Brett (Mary Ellen) Kitko, Brenda (Brant) Cirrincione, Brady Kitko, Timothy Wetzel, Tayne Powell, Adam Cousins, Taylor Powell, Graham Cousins, Jesse Norris and Marty Norris; his seven great-grandchildren; his sister, Joyce McKinney of West Sunbury; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, William Powell; and sister, Janet Sweitzer.
POWELL — Family and friends of Glenn A. Powell, who passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2013, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the Bauer Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 515 N. McKean St., Kittanning.Additional visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. until the time of funeral services at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the Cabot United Methodist Church, 707 Winfield Road, Cabot, PA 16023, with the Rev. Matthew Judd, the Rev. Dr. Dennis Swineford and the Rev.
