Strong Finish
Slippery Rock University wraps up its Kaleidoscope Arts Festival with a play tonight and more events this weekend.
A new take on the Shakespeare classics “Romeo and Juliet” and “Othello” is presented in “Goodnight Desdemona (Good Morning Juliet).”
Directed by Laura Smiley, SRU associate professor of theater, the play is about romance, self-discovery and the nature of tragedy. It explores the theory that “Romeo and Juliet” and “Othello” were originally comedies, Smiley said.
The show goes on at 7:30 p.m. today in the University Union Multi-Purpose Room. Tickets are $7 for students and $12 for the public.
