Helen Louise (Brunn) Gardner, 92, of Harmony passed away Wednesday while in the comfort of her home.

She was born Oct. 8, 1920, in Ingomar, and was the daughter of the late Philip A. and Stella M. (Davis) Brunn.

Helen was a 1938 graduate of Perry High School and a 1941 graduate of the Suburban General Hospital Nursing Program in Bellevue.

She enjoyed her duties as a nurse there and in Grants Pass, Ore.; Boulder City, Nev. and Passavant Retirement Community in Zelienople. Helen also enjoyed cooking, baking, basketry and family dinners. She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her five children, Mary Ann Toia, Mark Gardner, Matthew Gardner and his wife, Suzanne, Jonathan Gardner and Suz Gardner-Denniston and her husband, Bernie; her 10 grandchildren, Heather Menke and her husband, Tim, Richard Amend, Luke and Dylan Gardner, Patrick, Benjamin and Emmy Gardner, Bella Gardner, Alyssa Dawn Chance and her husband, John, and Matthew Caleb Cammarata and his wife, Heather; her three great-grandchildren, Ali Gardner and Samuel and Max Cammarata; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard Patrick Gardner whom she married on June 19, 1945, in Boulder City; her son, Timothy Luke “Tim” Gardner; her two brothers and one sister.

GARDNER — A memorial service for Helen Louise (Brunn) Gardner, who passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2013, will be celebrated at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Zion Lutheran Church, 557 Perry Highway, Harmony, with the Rev. Barbara Love and the Rev. Peggy Suhr-Barkley, co-officiating.

Funeral Arrangements were entrusted to the Boylan Funeral Home, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her honor in support of the Zion Lutheran Church.
