Doris L. Barger
Doris L. Barger, 74, of Petrolia passed away unexpectedly at 10:16 p.m. Friday at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Doris was born July 22, 1938, in Higgins Corners, Butler County. She was the daughter of the late Francis E. Montgomery and the late Mary V. Montgomery.
She was a member of the Hilliards Methodist Church.
She retired with more than 37 years of service from the Social Security Administration as the assistant director. During her retirement years, she enjoyed being a cashier at Walmart.
She was an avid gardener and loved cooking, canning and crocheting.
Doris is survived by her loving husband, Russell Barger, who she married Dec. 14, 1971; three daughters, Mrs. Dawn L. DeLauro and her husband, John, of Safety Harbor, Fla., Mrs. Lori L. Hooks and her husband, Rick, of Gainesville, Va., and Cindy Cook Williams (Dave Williams) of Butler; one son, Timothy F. Cook (Diane McKain) of Butler; and two granddaughters, Ashley N. Williams of Mammoth Lakes, Calif., and Heather N. Cook of Butler; two sisters, Mrs. Jack (Shirley) Kastelic of Butler and Mrs. John (Linda) Raducz of Saxonburg; seven stepchildren, Debbie Barger, Val Jean Schooley, Shari Bennetti, Selena Stevens, Tanya Pinto, Roxann Barger and Stephen Barger; 21 step-grandchildren; and 13 step great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Donald C. Cook, who died Jan. 18, 1965; one brother, Paul Montgomery; and one stepson, Russell Barger Jr.
BARGER — Friends of Doris L. Barger, who passed away Friday, March 29, 2013, will be received from 2 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the William F. Young Funeral Home, 132 Main St., West Sunbury. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Jim Lewis, her pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the West Sunbury Union Cemetery.
