Community dinners available
The First United Methodist Church started Butler’s free community dinners in 1993, according to Ruth Griffin, coordinator of the dinner at the church at 200 E. North St.
“I think it’s great,” said Rev. Harry Bielewicz, pastor of the three Roman Catholic parishes in downtown Butler — St. Paul, St. Peter and St. Michael the Archangel — and coordinator of the Tuesday community dinner at St. Paul. “When we feed folks, we’re feeding Christ in these people. This is a tremendous mission we’re on.”
