Gery Prosser, 53, of Butler passed away Sunday at Good Samaritan Hospice Unit in Cabot.

He was born Nov. 2, 1959, in Pittsburgh and was the son of the late Samuel B. and Mary Jane (Werthman) Prosser.

Gery worked for 34 years as a stationary engineer for Oxford Development and Local 95. He would have been up for early retirement next year after 35 years of service. He was a hard worker who loved the outdoors.

Gery was a Methodist.

Surviving are his wife, Dawn (Osche) Prosser, who he married July 29, 2003; two daughters, Jodi Repak of Johnstown, Pa., and Kristi Prosser of Jefferson Hills, Pa.; a son, Brad Prosser of Dormont, Pa.; two stepdaughters, Jenna and Katie Morrow at home; a grandson, Noah Prosser of Jefferson Hills, Pa.; two sisters, Jane Danhires and Shawna Seipel, both of Pittsburgh; and a brother, Sam Prosser of Pittsburgh.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.

PROSSER — A memorial service for Gery Prosser, who passed away Sunday, April 28, 2013, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Zion United Methodist Church, 438 Bearcreek Road, Sarver.
