Anne Marie (Gaisford) Geibel
Anne Marie (Gaisford) Geibel, 74, of Evansville, Ind., formerly of Chicora and Pittsburgh, died at home Tuesday surrounded by her family.
Anne was born on April 2, 1939, to Edward and Sallie Gaisford in Sharon, Pa.
She grew up in Chicora. She graduated from Chicora High School in 1957 and Duquesne University in 1961, with a degree in pharmacy.
Following in her father's and grandfather's footsteps, she became a licensed pharmacist and began her career in Washington, D.C., in 1961. During her career, she worked for People's Drugs, Wilkinsburg Pharmacy, Rite Aid Pharmacy and CVS before retiring in 2002.
While she had success at everything she did professionally, she will be most remembered for her family. She raised five children, four daughters and a son, and instilled in them some of her best qualities. She also had an impact on her sons-in-law and daughter-in-law.
She had a love and passion for many things, including Broadway musicals, movies, current events, sports, home remodeling projects and gardening.
She loved taking trips. New York City was always her favorite city, and in 2008, she, along with all of her children and grandchildren, spent Christmas there. Her annual trips with her sisters also meant a great deal to her.
Surviving are four daughters, Laurie Williams and her husband, Dale, of Evansville, Ind., Barbara Salee and her husband, Joe, of Columbus, Ind., Sharon Ewing and her husband, Darren, of Rockport, Ind., and Holly Rupprecht and her husband, Craig, of Clarksville, Ind.; one son, Tim Geibel and his wife, Cindy, of Newburgh, Ind.; 10 grandchildren, Adam Visk, Anthony Visk, Katie Salee, Paul Salee, Alex Williams, Rachel Ewing, Samantha Geibel, Ethan Geibel, Eric Rupprecht and Drake Rupprecht; and two step-grandchildren, Sean Ewing and Amy Ewing. Also surviving are two sisters, Mary Easley and her husband, Joe, of Pensacola, Fla., and Patti Pishioneri and her husband Vince of Virginia Beach, Va.; two brothers-in-law, Sid Geibel of Chicora and Leon Geibel and his wife, Josephine, of Hagerstown, Md.; and an uncle, Dr. John Gaisford of Fox Chapel, Pa.Anne was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Bernie; her parents, Edward and Sallie Gaisford; brother-in-law, Adrian Geibel; and sister-in-law, Eileen Slater.The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Thomas Waits and the staff of Heritage Hospice, especially Raina, Tom and Megan.
