EVANS CITY — The Evans City Library will host its annual summer reading program with registration at the library from today to July 1. This year's theme is Dig Into Reading.

The program is for children ages 2 to 6, grades 1 to 4 and grades 5 to 12. A summer story time and other activities are included.

The Butler County Parks and Recreation Department will host the first of the Alameda Story Adventures from 11:30 a.m. to noon Thursday in the Rotary Shelter at Alameda Park.The adventure series will continue each Thursday.The free program is designed for children age 6 and younger, but all are welcome. MARS — Old Union Church, 200 Union Church Road, Mars, will host a strawberry festival from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday.Desserts with freshly picked strawberries, cake and ice cream will be available as well as full meals.
