Doris Wilson

Doris J. Wilson, 79, of Grove City passed away at 4:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Grove City Medical Center after an extended illness.

She was born on Sept. 12, 1933, in Grove City to Arthur C. Garner and Mary Ann Zupen Garner.

Doris was a homemaker, and she was a cook for many years at Truck Stops of American, Barkeyville, and at the Grove City Country Club.

She was a Protestant.

She enjoyed bowling and played in various bowling leagues in Grove City. Doris was an avid Steelers, Penguins and Pirates fan.

She is survived by six children, Susan Hinton and her husband, Ken, of Mercer, John Wilson of Grottoes, Va., Michael Wilson, Andrew Wilson and Joan McDowell, Keith Wilson and his wife, Linda, and Dana Wilson, all of Grove City; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and her former husband, Dale Wilson of Grove City.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Rickey Wilson in 2009; and three brothers, Robert, Donald and John Garner.

WILSON — Visitation for Doris J. Wilson, who passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2013, will be received at the Cunningham Funeral Home, 306 Bessemer Ave., Grove City, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today.A funeral service will be at the funeral home at 2 p.m. Friday with the Rev. Charles Schwartz of the Bible Baptist Church, Mercer, officiating. Burial will be at Prairie Cemetery, Harrisville.
