Martha Maxine Sliker-Bowser
Martha Maxine Sliker-Bowser, 83, of Worthington passed away Thursday at Good Samaritan Hospice in Cabot.
She was born on July 27, 1929, in Volant, Pa., and was the daughter of the late Raymond and Dealores (Toy) Davenport.
Martha was employed at PPG Industries in Ford City and later at Castle Rubber in East Butler, from where she retired in 1991.
A lifelong member of the Worthington Baptist Church, she enjoyed participating in many church functions as well as activities with friends and family.
She is survived by her son, Kenneth (Denise) Sliker of Lady Lake, Fla.; her daughter, Susan (Wayne) Myers of Troy, Ohio; her grandson, Mathew Myers of Lisle, Ill.; and her granddaughter, Kelly (Jordan) Lightner of Hubber Heights, Ohio. A sister, Nancy Wagner of Worthington; her second husband, Frank Bowser of Worthington, and his two sons, Jeff (Trudy) Bowser and Vaughn Bowser, both of Worthington, also survive.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Floyd “Bud” Sliker; two brothers, Robert “Bob” and Jay Davenport; and her second husband’s daughter, Valerie (Steve) Brocious.
SLIKER-BOWSER — Friends of Martha Maxine Sliker-Bowser, who passed away Thursday, May 16, 2013, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the F. DUANE SNYDER FUNERAL HOME, 119 Bear St., Worthington.Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Worthington Baptist Church with Pastor Barry Stewart officiating, with the Rev. Joseph Simpson assisting. Additional visitation one hour before the service.
