Amelia Malvarose, 85, of Butler died Monday at St. John’s Specialty Care in Mars.

Born Sept. 30, 1927, in Butler, she was a daughter of the late Paul and Anna Ligashewsky.

Amelia graduated from Butler High School and had worked in the housekeeping department at Butler Memorial Hospital, retiring in 1991.

She was a member of the St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Butler.

Surviving are her son, Robert A. (Karen) Malvarose Sr. of Butler; three grandsons, U.S. Army Master Sgt. Robert Malvarose Jr., Jason Castilyn and Justin Castilyn; one great-granddaughter, Jordan Malvarose; two sisters, Olga Stepahin of Florida and Marie Galish of Erie, Pa., and eight nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Malvarose, who died Feb. 27, 1975; one daughter, Paula O’Korn; one grandson, Victor Malvarose; two brothers, Pete and John Ligashewsky; and one sister, Sophia Botzchea.

MALVAROSE — Cremation services provided for Amelia Malvarose, who died Monday, May 13, 2013, were by the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler.Information also is available at www.geibelfuneralhome.com.
