Ruth Hinchberger
Ruth (Housley) Hinchberger of Sarver passed away on Friday morning at Concordia Lutheran Ministries at the age of 79.
She was born Dec. 16, 1933. Ruth was the daughter of the late Ted and Hazel (McGinnis) Cox.
Ruth worked for HiHo Fashion Outlet for many years.
She attended St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cabot.
Ruth enjoyed planting flowers and keeping a neat home but especially loved to give of her time to help others.
Her grandchildren are her pride and joy, and she loved going to their activities. Ruth has several nieces and nephews who she loved to visit with and especially the great-nieces and great-nephews who where also like grandchildren to her. Her two sisters-in-laws, Eileen Rodgers and Kit Lanier, were very close to her and spent much time with her over the past year.
Surviving are her children, Ron Housley of Summerville, Glenna (Mark) Bandi of Butler, Jeffrey (Gail) Hinchberger of Sarver and Renae (Chuck) Cobb of Sarver. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Alan and Steven Bandi, Stephanie, Jason and Dana Hinchberger, and Morgan and Nathan Cobb.
Ruth has one living sibling, Edward “Tom” Cox of California. Tom traveled to visit Ruth in August of 2012 and they were able to spend quality time together, which was very special for both of them.
Ruth was preceded in death by her late husband of 43 years, Richard Hinchberger; her first husband, Frank Housley; her parents; two brothers; and two sisters.
HINCHBERGER — Friends of Ruth (Housley) Hinchberger, who died Friday, May 17, 2013, will be received at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler, from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 N. McKean St., Butler. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Butler.Memorial donations may be made to the Special Olympics, P.O. Box 2561, Butler, PA 16003 or to the Good Samaritan Hospice, 134 Marwood Road, Cabot, PA 16023.
