Jacquelyn K. 'Jackie' Pry
Jacquelyn K. “Jackie” Pry, 61, of West Sunbury passed away peacefully at 8:10 a.m. Saturday at home surrounded by her family after a two-year courageous battle with ovarian cancer.
Jackie was born Aug. 9, 1951, in Butler. She was the daughter of the late Eceil F. Johnston, and Myrtle McCandless Johnston.
Jackie was a 1969 graduate of Moniteau High School. She was employed as a paraprofessional with the Midwestern Intermediate Unit IV working with special needs children.
She was a member of the St. Alphonsus Parish, having regularly attended the St. Louis Catholic Church, where she was a eucharistic minister and a member of the St. Alphonsus Ladies Guild. Jackie enjoyed working at the St. Louis Fish Fry, as recently as May 3, 2013. She also enjoyed doing catering for many family and friends. She was a part of the Williamstown Armory Wives Support Group of overseas veterans during the Gulf War. Jackie’s most precious time was spent with her grandchildren and sitting on her front porch enjoying her family.
Jackie is survived by her husband of 40 years, John P. Pry Sr., who she married Nov. 11, 1972; her mother, Myrtle Johnston, of Ridgeville; her daughter, Nicole E. (Ray) Cramer of West Sunbury and her son, John P. Pry Jr. of West Sunbury; and her four grandchildren, James Pry-Sock, Michael Pry-Sock, Lucy Pry and Megan Cramer. Also surviving are one sister, Beverly (Mike) Taylor of Chicora; one brother, Rick (Rosalyn) Johnston of Petrolia; two aunts; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
PRY — Friends of Jacquelyn K. “Jackie” Pry, who passed away Saturday, May 18, 2013, will be received at the William F. Young Funeral Home, 132 Main St., West Sunbury, from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Louis Catholic Church with Father James Bedillon of the St. Alphonsus Parish officiating, assisted by her nephew, Father Charles Baptiste and Monsignor Francis Frye.
Burial will be in the Rosewood Cemetery.
