Margaret M. Reep

God welcomed home another Sunday child: Margaret M. Reep, 89, who died at Meadow Lake Manor, Worthington, Pa., Thursday.

She was born on a sunny Sunday morning, Sept. 16, 1923, to Carrie McClure and Earl Roxbury in Fairview.

Margaret was a 1941 graduate of FTKC, Karns City High School and Comptometer School in Pittsburgh.

During World War II, she worked at Penn Drake Refining in Karns City and retired from SSA, Boyers. Margaret belonged to the Pennsylvania Voters Hall of Fame, not missing to cast a vote for 64 years.

On Oct. 17, 1942, Charles L. Reep and Margaret Roxbury were married at the United Methodist Church in Virginia Beach before his unit deployed overseas. Quote from Margaret: “We never had a fight. How do you fight with someone who walks out of the back door and drives up the road?”

They were blessed with 70 years.

Chuck and Margaret took to heart Jesus' last earthly command, Matthew 28, “Go ye therefore and teach all nations.” They faithfully attended and supported the Fairview United Methodist Church and Butler's First United Methodist Church, two overseas missions and three local ministries.

Survivors are her husband, Chuck (Jack) Reep; two sons, John (Norma) Reep of Butler and Curt (Patti) Reep of Kittanning; a daughter, Kathy (Mark) Ivory of Maryland; four grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. A sister, Jane (Les) Shively of Butler and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, three sisters and one grandson, Joe.

Margaret was thankful for the gift of a long and good life and praised God, through Jesus Christ. Life can be eternal, embrace it!

I'll bet Joey will be happy to see Grandma.
