Albert Joseph Gerlach 85, of Myrtle Beach, S.C., died Friday at his home.

Born in Pittsburgh, he was a son of the late Albert and Lola Mary Gerlach.

Mr. Gerlach was a graduate of Duquesne University.

He was a U.S. Air Force veteran.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the American Legion, the VFW and the St. Michael Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife, Claudia Gerlach of Myrtle Beach; three sons, Keith Gerlach and his wife, Cyndie, of Moody, Texas, Gregory Gerlach and his wife, Peg, of Littleton, Colo., and Timothy Gerlach of Butler; and two daughters, Diane McCormick and her husband, Ronald, of Portersville and Julie Matson of Key West, Fla.; 15 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and a sister, Gloria Grau of Allison Park, Pa.

Mr. Gerlach was preceded in death by a grandchild, Jennifer McKinney, and a brother, John Gerlach.
