Mazzarney K. Sanford, 22, of Butler passed away May 29.

He was born on Aug. 14, 1990, in Chicago to Mazzarney K. Sanford and Cecilia Portis.

He was attending ACCC for computer engineering. He had lived in Chicago, Milwaukee, Wis., North Carolina, South Carolina, New York City, Reading, Pa., Montana, Minneapolis, Minn., Seattle, Wash., and Kentucky.

He was one of Jehovah's Witnesses.

He is survived by his guardians, Charles E. Portis of Butler, who he lived with, and Marilyn E. Portis of New York City; his grandparent, Emma Tyler; five brothers; two sisters; 11 aunts; four uncles, and 107 cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel T. Portis, Sarah Portis Wade and Theodore Tyler; his aunt, Sherry L. Reed; his uncle, Neal Portis, and his cousin, Jenine L. Thomas.

SANFORD — A funeral for Mazzarney K. Sanford, who passed away Wednesday, May 29, 2013, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 157 Unionville Road, Butler.
