William J. Neyman
William J. Neyman, 88, of Butler passed away at 4:36 a.m. Tuesday at Butler Memorial Hospital.
He was born Nov. 29, 1924, in East Butler, to the late Joe Neyman and Mildred (Vasbinder) Neyman.
Mr. Neyman was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving with the artillery during World War II in Germany. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart.
He worked at Fritz Moon Tube. He worked as a pumper and roustabout in the oil fields in the Pittsburgh/McKees Rocks area. Mr. Neyman also worked as a parts runner for Cummings Diesel.
He was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church and the East Butler Hunting & Fishing Club. He enjoyed archery hunting.
Mr. Neyman is survived by one son, William “Bill” Neyman and his wife, Patricia, of McKees Rocks, Pa.; three grandchildren, Denise, Diana and Deborah; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Hazel Thompson and her husband, Pete, of Chicora; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jean E. (Fox) Neyman, who he married June 4, 1946, and who passed away Sept. 14, 1994; one sister, Mabel Eva; and one brother, John Neyman.
NEYMAN — Friends of William J. Neyman, who passed away Tuesday, June 4, 2013, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with Pastor John Barkley of Cornerstone Baptist Church officiating.
