Glen William Brunken
Glen William Brunken, 69, of Slippery Rock, beloved husband, father, teacher and artist passed away suddenly after a tragic accident Tuesday.
He was born Dec. 12, 1943, to Alvin and Evelyn Pereboom Brunken.
Born and raised in Oklahoma City, Okla., he received his bachelor’s in fine arts from the Kansas City Art Institute. He did a year of graduate study in lithography at the University of New Mexico and got his master’s in fine arts from Wichita State University. He was Professor Emeritus at Slippery Rock University where he taught printmaking, drawing and painting for 40 years. His art has been shown in national and international exhibitions/competitions. He was chosen as a Pittsburgh master artist at the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts in 2004.
He is survived by his wife, Cyndie (Childs); son, Bill (Alex McNeill); stepdaughters, Vanessa (Richard) Doughty and Patty (Adam) Davidson; stepson, Adam Revelant; four brothers, Alan (Murizah), Dean (Kathy), Jere (Eva) and Gary Brunken; and three stepgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
BRUNKEN — Visitations for Glen William Brunken, who passed away Tuesday, June 4, 2013, will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday and from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday with a service to follow in the J.
