Julian Bieber

Julian J. Bieber, 83, of Evans City died Sunday at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born Feb. 2, 1930, in Bavaria, Germany, he was the son of late Otto and Agnes Mussig Bieber.

He was a member of the St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Evans City.

Before coming to America, Julian worked for three years in the American Army Labor Division in Wurzburg, Germany. He worked 27 years at Kelly Chevrolet in Butler as a sales manager and became a member of the Legion of Leaders Honor Club. Julian worked in maintenance for the Seneca Valley School District at Haine Elementary School for 10 years. He was owner of Bieber Greenhouses for 50 years.

Julian was a member of the Evans City Lions Club for more than 50 years. He was a volunteer captain of the Nautical Nature Tour Boat and a member of the Preservation Society of Moraine State Park.

Too much of a workaholic to have hobbies, he nevertheless enjoyed fishing, spending time with his family and traveling, especially to Germany.

He was a loving husband and caring father.

Julian is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Jessie Young Bieber; four daughters, Peggy Bieber of Zelienople, Diana Rodgers (Leo Jones) and Kathy (Tom) Wearing, both of Evans City, and Linda (Martin) Defeo of Mount Lebanon; one son, J. Dan (Heidi) Bieber of Slippery Rock; two sisters, Rosalinde (Klaus) Blumm and Helga (Oswald) Werner; two brothers, Josef (Frieda) Bieber and Hermann Bieber, all of Germany; nine grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his son, Robert Bieber; sisters, Paula Derlet and Hannelore Leicht; and brother, Edgar Bieber

BIEBER — Graveside services for Julian J. Bieber, who died Sunday, June 16, 2013, will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday in the Evans City Cemetery with the Rev. David Saylor officiating. Burial will follow.Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the A. CARL KINSEY-RONALD N. VOLZ FUNERAL HOME, Evans City.If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Evans City Library, 204 S.
