Etha Payne

Etha L. Payne, 91, of Evans City, formerly of Richland Township, passed away Wednesday peacefully in her home.

Born on Dec. 7, 1921, in North Braddock, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Charles Frederick and Iva Alice Brickley Kitchen.

A homemaker, Etha had been a member of the Bakerstown Alliance Church, and she currently attended the Harmony-Zelienople United Methodist Church.

Surviving are two daughters, Judith Ellen Bierau and her husband, William, of Gibsonia and Etha “Cookie” Wolfe and her husband, Michael, of Butler; and two sons, John David Payne and his wife, Pat, of Bacliff, Texas, and Charles Frederick Payne and his wife, Cherie, of Butler. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 15 great -great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John David Payne, who she married June 12, 1938, and who died Aug. 13, 1996; a granddaughter; five brothers and four sisters.

PAYNE — Friends of Etha L. Payne, who passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2013, will be received at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday. The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. John Jefferis, pastor of the Harmony-Zelienople United Methodist Church, officiating.Burial will be in Allegheny County Memorial Park, McCandless Township.Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.Directions and condolences are available at www.mcdonald-aeberli.com.
