Mabel E. Oliva
Mabel E. Oliva, 92, of Butler passed away at 8:35 p.m. Saturday at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born July 26, 1920, in Prospect to the late Ralph G. Cooper and Mamie (Schuster) Cooper. She was the last surviving member of her family of 13 children.
Mrs. Oliva was a homemaker and a member of the St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church. She loved being surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Oliva is survived by two daughters, Patricia Montag and her husband, Charles, of Butler and Beverly Silbaugh and her husband, Timothy; one son, Thomas Oliva of Houston, Texas; eight grandchildren, Michael Montag and his wife, Sherry, of Butler, Michele Colvard and her husband, Jeffrey, of Pittsburgh, Matthew Montag and his wife, Christina, of Heath, Ohio, Ryan Silbaugh and his wife, Darcy, of Cranberry Township, Lisa Adkins of Austin, Texas, David Oliva and his wife, Ashley, of Houston, Scot Silbaugh and his wife, Becky, of Ravenna, Ohio and Lisa Stavitski and her husband, David, of Earlyville, Va.; nine great-grandchildren, Sarah and Oliviah Montag of Butler, Ethan and Jacob Montag of Heath, Atticus Silbaugh of Cranberry Township, Kade Adkins of Austin, Andrew Oliva of Houston, and Tommy and Nick Silbaugh of Ravenna, and a number of wonderful nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carmen A. Oliva, who she married July 6, 1945, and who passed away Nov. 15, 2008.
OLIVA — Friends of Mabel E. Oliva, who died Saturday, June 22, 2013, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler. A blessing service will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Harry R. Bielewicz of the St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church officiating.
