Butler City Council took these actions Thursday:
Approved the retirement of Ralph Graham, head of the Streets Department, effective Aug. 10, and began the process to replace him.
Amended Rental Occupancy Reports, making landlords report all leases and occupants to the city on a yearly basis.
Approved an ordinance that would add a $25 penalty to garbage and rubbish violations. The fee is for mailing costs.
Approved the 2014 Minimum Municipal Obligations for the city’s three pension plans as follows: $189,046 for firefighters, $161,788 for police and zero for officers and employees.
Transferred ownership of the 1941 Bantam Jeep from the city to the Butler County Historical Society.
Approved an ordinance to adopt Leyland Way as a public street. That is between Hickory Street and Zeigler Avenue.
Approved a motion to install “No Parking” signs on the east side of Coal Street on a 90-day trial basis.
Accepted a bid from Bauer Excavating for $4,380 to repair a sink hole on Hansen Avenue.
Approved payment of $7,340 to A.P. Wise Excavating for demolition of the building at 127 Morton Ave. upon approval of the code enforcement officer.
Approved an agreement with the Butler Area Midget Football League for use of facilities in Memorial Park from Aug. 1 through Nov. 30.
Planned to seek proposals for traffic signal maintenance for 2014 and 2015.
