Cunningham

Delores J. Cunningham, 75, of 10 Willow Lane, Pine Township, Grove City, passed away suddenly Wednesday afternoon in UPMC Mercy Hospital, Pittsburgh.

Known by family and friends as “Dee” throughout her life, she was born in Jackson Center, Pa., on May 21, 1938, to the late Ellsworth J. “Scotty” and Ethel M. Evans Bain.

She married H. Lee Cunningham on Aug. 7, 1959, in the Tower Presbyterian Church, Grove City. Lee preceded her in death 10 months to the day on Sept. 3, 2012.

Dee was a graduate of Grove City High School, Class of 1956. Following high school, she was a telephone operator with Bell of Pennsylvania in the Grove City office. She also bookkeeper for the Cunningham Funeral Home for many years.

A homemaker, she was a member of the Tower Presbyterian Church, where she served in a variety of ways, including being both deacon and elder, a nursery aide, a youth group worker and Mothers Guild member. Dee also was active in charitable organizations, including Meals on Wheels, the Well Baby Clinic and Junior Women’s Club. She was a member of PEO sisterhood.

Dee enjoyed getting together with friends for a monthly Breakfast Club with her high school classmates as well as a women’s card club of close friends who have met monthly for over 40 years. She loved her life with her husband and family.

Dee is survived by two sons, Mark E. Cunningham and his wife, Rosann, of Grove City and Michael L. Cunningham and Janice A. Mills of Grove City; four granddaughters, Lauren A. Cunningham of Temecula Valley, Calif., Jacquelyn B. Previty, Faith E. Cunningham and Abigail G. Cunningham, all of Grove City; one sister, Patricia A. Winger and her husband, C. Eugene “Gene,” of Mercer; and a sister-in-law, Irene Bain of Grove City. Several nieces, nephews and cousins survive.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, James E. “Jim” Bain.

CUNNINGHAM — Visitation for Delores J. Cunningham, who passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2013, will be at the Cunningham Funeral Home, 306 Bessemer Ave. Grove City from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday.

A funeral service will be at the Tower Presbyterian Church in the church sanctuary, 248 S. Broad St., Grove City, at 11 a.m. Tuesday, with Father Michael Allison of the Beloved Disciple Catholic Church and Janice Good, a Presbyterian pastor, officiating. Burial will be at Woodland Cemetery, Grove City.

Memorial tributes in Dee’s name may be made to the Tower Presbyterian Church, Grove City, or to any Grove City charitable organization.
