Hampton “Max” Ballard III, 65, of Gibsonia passed away unexpectedly Monday.

Max was a physician’s assistant specializing in neurosurgery since 1980 and worked in the Pittsburgh and Butler areas.

He was the dear son of Emilie Cherry; beloved husband of Melanie Reiter Ballard; loving father of Emilie Gaeta (Joe), Sara DiDomenico (Anthony), Rachel Divens (Michael), Zachary Ballard and Jacob Ballard; brother of Bruce Ballard (Carol); and papou of Lorena and Isabella DiDomenico.

He also is survived by a large extended family.

Ballard — Friends of Hampton “Max” Ballard III, who passed away Monday, July 1, 2013, will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday and from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the George A. Thoma Funeral Home, 10418 Perry Highway, Wexford. A funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday in the St. Alphonsus Church, Wexford.
