WINFIELD TWP — The third annual Sponsor The Troops Ride will be Sept. 8 to raise money for Sponsor The Troops, a nonprofit organization that helps with recreational items and the morale of deployed American troops.

The group’s purpose is to let the troops know that citizens appreciate their service.

Registration begins at 10 a.m. Sept. 8 at Runt’s Roadhouse, 509 N. Pike Road, Winfield Township, with the first group of bikers departing about 11 a.m.

Stops will include Schenley American Legion Post 775, the Rose Inn and Vandergrift American Legion Post 114. Riders will return to Runt’s Roadhouse for dinner and a prize auction.

Registration forms are available at Runt’s Roadhouse, Peter B’s in Sarver, or online by following the links for the event at www.shadyladyproductions.com.

Participants may also register through ShowClix by calling 888-718-4253 or visiting its website at www.ShowClix.com. There are no service fees for registering online.

Registration is $15 per rider in advance and $20 the day of the ride. Passengers are $10.

In the first year of the event, $2,200 was raised, and in the second year the total was $3,000.
