Madeline 'Mamie' Carnahan Wetzel

Madeline “Mamie” Carnahan Wetzel, 88, of Sarver, went to her eternal rest with the Lord Wednesday.

Mamie was born on Sept. 22, 1924, in Jeannette, Pa. She worked at Jeannette Glass and at Moonlight Mushrooms and was a homemaker.

She was a member of the St. Luke Lutheran Church in Saxonburg, Saxonburg Golden Agers and Meals on Wheels.

She loved to travel, play dominoes and have family dinners on holidays. She was a devoted wife and mother.

She is survived by her husband, Wilfred “Bill” Wetzel, who she married on March 17, 1945; her children, Doris (Roy) Miller of Natrona Heights, Wesley (Janie) Wetzel of Ford Cliff, Bonnie (Butch) Yates of Cabot, Billie (Glenna) Wetzel of Cabot, Linda Heade of Saxonburg, Tom (Terri) Wetzel of Sarver and Jim Wetzel of Sarver; 21 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and 13 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers; one sister; one daughter, Dana Robinson; three grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

WETZEL — Friends of Madeline “Mamie” Carnahan Wetzel, who died Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2013, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at theFox Funeral Home, 410 W. Main St. Saxonburg.
