Bonnie Wike Pennington

Bonnie Wike Pennington, 65, of Parker passed away suddenly Tuesday morning at the Golden Living Care Center in Shippenville, Pa., where she had lived for many months.

Born in Perry Township, Clarion County, on July 21, 1948, she was daughter of the late George B. and Agnes Janet Clawson Wike.

She had been a longtime active member, president and secretary of the former Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW Post 7073 of Parker.

Over many years, Bonnie had worked at the social club of the VFW at Parker, as a hostess with Eat-n-Park in Butler, and as a waitress with Bob's Place in Parker until she became victim of a stroke years ago.

Surviving are her husband, George E. Pennington; two daughters, Lisa (Zane) Thompson and Laura Pennington, both of Parker; one son, “Rob” (Joyce) Pennington of Kittanning; two grandchildren, Amanda and Lydia Thompson; one sister, Brenda (John) Preston of West Freedom; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, “Gene” and Brent Wike.

PENNINGTON — The friends of Bonnie Wike Pennington, who passed away Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2013, may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the H. Jack Buzard Funeral Home, 201 S. Wayne Ave., Parker, where funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday. Interment will be later in Mt.
